Sous vide, a popular cooking method in restaurants, involves cooking food in a vacuum-sealed bag in a temperature-controlled bath at low temperatures for a half day or longer. This way you can create very tender meats such as steaks, chicken and salmon giving them a velvety texture without overcooking. GE, in partnership with FirstBuild, is introducing a Sous Vide Accessory that integrates with GE’s new Profile, Cafe, and Monogram induction cooktops. Using the Sous Vide accessory, the cooktop adjusts the water temperature to your setting. GE is working on a companion app for your smartphone that connects the sous vide setup via Bluetooth so that you will be able to control and monitor the cooking remotely.
