Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) is defined as the speed at which heartbeat-generated vibrations spread out along the arterial wall and is widely recognized by the medical community as the best assessments of cardiac health. High PWV measurements indicate stiff arteries or high blood pressure. Body Cardio computes PWV based on your age and the time it takes for blood to flow from the aorta in the heart to the vessels in the feet. Along with its companion app, Health Mate, Body Cardio provides you with the evolution of your PWV over time and whether your PWV is normal, optimal, or at risk.
