Wemo, the smart home brand from Belkin International, debuted two new smart switch products for their Internet of Things ecosystem at CES: the Wemo Mini Smart Plug and the Wemo Dimmer Light Switch. The Wemo Mini Smart Plug is half the size of the previous Wemo Smart Switch, and is designed to allow two smart plugs to stack on top of each other in a single outlet. It connects everyday household electronic devices to the Wemo app so you can control them from your phone or through voice commands. The Wemo Dimmer Light Switch, a 2017 Innovation Award Honoree, includes all of the features of the original Wemo Light Switch, plus advanced updates such as Night Mode to prevent harsh lights at night and a customized bulb calibration. It uses the Wemo app to custom calibrate any bulb type including incandescents (up to 400 watts), CFLs or LEDs, to eliminate flickering and noise issues when you dim the lights. Both products also work with Amazon Echo, Google Home,and the Nest Learning Thermostat’s Home and Away modes.
